Welcome to the ABC's of
Church Management website. ABC's of Church Management is a
nonprofit organization that focuses on providing churches and
pastors with researched, state-specific, and updated information.
New
Ministry Opportunity
In its
endeavor to help ease the administrative stress that pastors and
church leaders face, ABC's of Church Management group has
developed a new church administration certification opportunity.
This is not a one-size-fits-all program.
This is not a canned program. Through this
opportunity, the ABC's group will evaluate the governance,
financial, leadership development, and risk management needs of the
individual church and design a certification opportunity
specifically for that church.
This opportunity will include:
-
administration
coaching for the senior pastor
-
administration coaching for the governing board chair
-
administration coaching for the church treasurer
-
educational/training opportunities for all pastors, board
members and treasurer
This
opportunity covers much more than just the bylaws and finances
of the church. It will include, but not limited to:
-
leadership development - understanding leadership styles,
needs and communication
-
meeting
federal and state compliance issues
-
implementing proper policies and procedures
-
risk
management
-
financial issues and practices
The first
goal of this ministry is quite unique. It is to provide a church
with a resource that helps them:

explore
who they are,
-
discern
what God has called them to do,
-
design
a strategy to accomplish that calling,
-
establish practices that meet federal, state, and local
compliance
The second
goal is to help churches to become proactive instead of
reactive. Church leaders have to spend a great deal of time and
resources putting out fires and honoring "sacred cows." The goal
of this opportunity is to help churches develop standards by
which all decisions and expenditures can be measured. When these
standards are in place and implemented, more time and resources
are available for the ministry and vision God has called the
individual church to fulfill.
